“Root | Into | New Growth”

“New Growth”, is the final painting in the triptych series. The 3 pieces hung together each blend into each other. They resemble a woven tapestry and symbolize a continuous threaded web of time. The fruits of today are the seeds of yesterday.

Complete Series Debuted alongside Catwalk

The completed series was featured in the innovative “Trashion Revolution” Fashion Show presented by Triveni Institute, at Macy’s Chicago, July 2024. The event raised awareness on the issues of fast-fashion and plastic pollution and created dialogue on plastic-waste solutions. Nadia was the opening speaker at the event where she introduced her completed series and shared her personal story about the paintings. She highlighted her connection to sewing due to the cultural practice of mending and repurposing clothing that was taught to her by her resourceful immigrant relatives. She shared in-depth how these experiences intricately inspired her paintings.
